Net Neutrality

Posted by Keelan on February 7th, 2007

I came across the Canadian Press article ‘Tories veering toward Internet policy that helps big firms, documents show’, which led me to Michael Geist’s blog and his related post, which is worth a read.

Mark Goldberg of Telecom Trends also offers a view on the subject.

I think this paragraph from the Canadian Press article is important:

Net neutrality, dubbed the First Amendment of the Internet in the United States, aims to ensure the public can view the smallest blogs just as quickly and easily as the largest corporate websites. It stops telecom giants from ensuring that pages of companies that pay them load faster than any others.
